JUMBOshrimp Case Studies
Wind River
Wind River products are reliable. They are the de facto standard. A standard
that was fast being seen as a commodity.
SOLUTION:
Make a distinction between "reliable" and "extremely reliable."
Show the importance of reliability to innovation and success.
CLIENT RESPONSE:
"Never before had I had an agency relationship where I felt the agency
understood our business as well as theirs until now. JUMBOshrimp has moved us
forward tremendously in realizing the brand as an asset. They have also worked
closely with our PR and web agencies to ensure consistency of the brand. They
continue to be our strategic partner and our lead agency, consistently exceeding
our expectations."

Check Point
Up is Down
Alone Together
Local is Global
Open is Secure
We Secure the Internet
Check Point global leader in firewalls. Denying access, claim to fame in an
environment changed by the Internet to be access, positive equity of the firewall
product, reshape it, transfer it to the company within this new environment.
SOLUTION:
Create a universal message that reframed the way people think about security
and Check Point. Firewalls that "lock" people out we shifted the paradigm
and the focus to a Check Point brand t leader in "keys," providing
secure access to the right people at the right place at the right time.
E-Color
IT departments thought the E-Color product was a wonderful technology. But it
just wasn't a technology they felt they needed. They needed speed, color could
wait.
SOLUTION:
We uncovered a new target -- OEMs, marketers, strategists, and merchandisers
-- that saw their technology as a must have because they saw color as critical.
EXP Case Study
exp.com
Real Experts, Real Help
The Internet is all about free information. Information sites were booming,
advice people receive does not come from real experts. It comes from friends,
colleagues, or self-help books usually too general to be of real help. Most
web sites only offer general advice and most advice sites let anyone claim they're
an expert.
SOLUTION:
Get people to question the source. Why is it free?
Merant
Change is good
Every vendor, from software to hardware, from IBM to HP, wanted to be that someone,
MERANT included. And MERANT was unknown.
SOLUTION:
Because they were new, we recognized that they had one chance to communicate
their differentiation. They were more concerned with their client's success
than anyone else, and based their offering on a better understanding of their
client's business.
CLIENT RESPONSE:
"Their name says it all. JUMBO - big experience, big brains, big advice,
big opinions, big strategy, big ideas, big service, big results. Shrimp - from
a small team of dedicated pros. While some people probably got a kick out of
saying our agency was Leo Burnett, we hired them for the team. All we lost when
Burnett folded their San Francisco office was the overhead."

IDENTIX Case Study
IDENTIX SAFE
Post 911, the airports have been mandated to increase security. Traditional
physical security, with separate and unconnected obstacles such as doors and
fences, was inadequate. A new type of system that identifies and authenticates
people from the moment they access a company's assets -- tangible or intangible
-- continues to identify and authenticate them was needed. Everyone, everywhere
was tremendously anxious about safety and purchasing the right solution. Government
funds were made available to be used to solve the problem within a very tight
window.
SOLUTION:
Don't throw fuel on the fire. Spend the most time on the solution: in this new
world security is less about barriers and more about knowing the people within
them.
